THE SITUATION:
You are in New Orleans, There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding.
You are a photo journalist working for a major newspaper and you are caught in the middle of this epic disaster.
You are trying to shoot your career-making photos.
There are houses and people swirling around you and disappearing under the water.
THE TEST:
Suddenly you see a man swirling about in the freezing cold water.
He is desperately fighting for his life and flailing about swimming against the raging waves of the frigid water trying not to be taken down with the tons of debris.
You move closer.
And closer yet.
You look at the man.
Somehow the man looks familiar.
You suddenly realize who it is.
It is the "Reverend" Al Sharpton.
At the same time, you notice that the raging waters are about to take him under forever.
You have two options: 1). You can save the life of the so-called "Reverend", or 2). You can shoot one of the most dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo which will document the death of one of the world's most famous men.
THE QUESTION:
Here's the question...now, remember to please give a spontaneous honest answer...
Would you select the high contrast color film for the true to life look or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white for the dramatic edge?
