The ADA Restoration Act, now referred to as the "ADA Amendments Act of 2008" is gaining bipartisan support in both the U.S. Congress and the Senate. The Act has been drawn up to restore civil rights that were intended by and integral to the original Americans with Disabilities Act, but which have seemingly been "chipped away at" by subsequent court rulings. On June 26, Congress approved the Act with a vote of 402 to 17. Current and future developments, including the content of the Act itself, can be found on the website of the American Association of People with Disabilities.
