Subject: Darren Shan Contact Form
Mr Darren Shan,
I am the mother of a teenager who has enjoyed your books immensely while he was growing up. I just wanted you to know that I think that your books are wonderful. My son Xxxxxx started to reading your book in the 6th or 7th grade (he is now seventeen and a senior in high school and owns the whole series of Cirque Du Freak).
He read his first Cirque Du Freak book for a book-report he had to do on the suggestion of his teacher. He was hooked on your book after reading the first one. He would tell me how good your books were and asked me if I would like to read them. I kept turning him down until one day I couldn't take his bugging anymore and agreed to read it.
Needless to say, as I started to read the first book, I too got hooked on the story. At first I thought I would not enjoy the book because it was a children's book and such an easy read. After reading your book and becoming fascinated with the story, my son and I would go to the bookstore together to see if the new books were on the shelf when we knew that the books were supposed to be out. We were both anxious to read the new one and talk about it.
Anyway, this past week I picked up the last book in the series and read it. I was sad to find that it was going to be the last book. It was bittersweet because not only did it mean it was the end of the saga, but it also meant that my son had grown up. This is his senior year and he will soon be going off to college, but we will always have the memories that we share discussing your book, our thought about your book, and where you were leading us with the next book.
Thank you for making your book a part of "our" growing up. We have both enjoyed your books and were alway anxious for the next one to come out. Keep up the good writing. You are definitely a fabulous writer. Thank you once again.
Your loyal fans,
Xxxxxx/Xxxxxx Xxxx
