Slightly Irritated Today Because Of Someone At Work...

I hate when someone I work with asks me if it is okay if they leave 1/2 an hour early from work. "Hey, do you mind if I leave a 1/2 hour early today? I have to do some personal stuff that I have to take care of right now." Yes, damn it, I do mind and you know I mind so why are you asking me?!?!

To me, just one small person's opinion, if you have personal stuff that you have to tend to, then don't come into work, period. Take care of your personal business on your own time!!! It is as simple as that. Be a more responsible person instead of "double dipping". Call in and take the loss because it is your choice to do the other thing, not mine.

I just hate it when my co-workers come into work and ask to leave early although you know that they are not going to be honest and dock their timecards for leaving early. Why do you ask me in the first place when you are just going to do it anyway?? So you can justify it??? So you can tell me your "REASONS" for what you are doing so you make me feel sorry for you and then it becomes OKAY for you to leave me hanging with all the responsibility??

When my co-workers do things like that they should just tell me what they are going to do, why put me on the spot and make me the BAD GUY?? I feel this way because if I were really to say no, then are they really going to honestly stay?? I think that this is just a ploy for them to get me to "FEEL" for them the way we are to FEEL for the ILLEGAL ALIENS!! If we make them sound pathetic and hopeless, then people are going to WANT them to stay and live off the middle class forever and bring in more people!! We are a society that perpetuate ill behavior and then we can't understand what happened to us.

Anyway, I am getting off the point. Back to my point now. Please! Why don't you give me a break!! Don't make me have to tell you what you are supposed to do!! You know the right thing to do, but you just don't want to do it. Then you continue to EXPLAIN the REASON that you need to do what you are doing to and continue to tell me why you are going to break the rules. I think you tell me your crummy REASONS because you are trying to make yourself feel better and less guilty about what you are doing.

The thing that bothers me is that you should not make me have to tell you the "right thing" to do because you are one of THOSE people who complain about other people doing it to you. Hypocracy!! It just pisses me off! Don't say that others do this to you and how often they do when just the fact of you doing it alone is enough for me. Whether you do it once or twice the fact of the matter is that you do it too!!

This issue just irritates me because I think if you are on the clock, then you shouldn't leave work. Unless your boss tells you that you can because you have already discussed it with them prior to telling me, then do it. If not, don't act like you told the boss and that they know about it when indeed you are getting away with not being at work and getting paid for it.

Remember people, you can't have your cake and eat it too!!! Bite the bullet and do the right thing. You ethically should not be taking off from work unless you are given permission to do so. And don't ask me if it is okay with me if you leave just a 1/2 hour early because a 1/2 hour is a 1/2 hour and...BECAUSE IT IS NOT OKAY WITH ME!!!!

I am just tired of people at work taking advantage of me. I don't leave work early and expect to get paid. It is not ethical! GROW UP PEOPLE!!! This is the REAL WORLD!! Alas!!
